After many years in the teaching profession, I have come to believe that there is a very simple, yet highly effective formula to providing our pupils with an excellent education. My philosophy is simple: children need a happy school atmosphere, small class sizes and to have high expectations of themselves.
Woodhill School started in a very modest way as a small but select school. Our approach to learning seems to have struck a chord with other parents and I am delighted at the school’s growth, both in size and reputation.
To meet the changing demands of education, we embrace new innovations and carefully consider the tools our pupils will need to succeed in the modern world. At the same time we are careful to stay true to the core teaching elements that have made us so successful.
We have a wonderful team of teachers and assistants, who are dedicated to helping pupils to achieve their full potential. We use traditional teaching methods with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. There’s a lovely community spirit at the school. Mutual respect, good behaviour and courtesy are at the heart of our school ethos.
Every pupil is treated as an individual to ensure we nurture their abilities and meet their needs. They work to a curriculum that is tailored to their specific needs, so they achieve their full potential.
For me, one of the greatest sources of satisfaction is seeing our past pupils. It is always a great pleasure to hear them talk so fondly of their time at the school and their achievements since leaving.
